KEMET Suzhou Plant has evaluated and qualified the new black
epoxy material setting and will start the conversion from yellow
to black. This conversion allows KEMET to be consistent and
standardize with industry and minimize the future risk of
potential raw material cost escalation/availability related to
usage of yellow epoxy in specialized industries.

This change is planned for implementation to begin 1st week,
February 2014. Both yellow and black epoxy material will be
shipped until all finished goods inventory of yellow material is
depleted. No changes in the part number will be implemented.

These devices offer a very long operational life and high ripple current capabilities. KEMET T520 Polymer Tantalum KO-CAP Capacitors can reduce component counts and eliminate through-hole assembly by replacing cumbersome leaded aluminum capacitors. Ideal applications include DC-DC converters, audio/sound circuits, power supply inputs, portable electronics, telecommunications, consumer electronics, densely populated circuits with space restrictions, and microprocessor decoupling, as well as high-voltage and high ripple current applications.
