AVX has introduced an automotive series for TransGuard
products. A new series name has been assigned that will
differentiate automotive grade from commercial products,
VCAS. This is a paperwork change as there is no change to
the current process, materials, manufacture location, etc.
Going forward, the VC series will be classified as
commercial and VCAS as automotive grade. The VCAS will
maintain the current design. There is no change to form,
fit, function, or manufacturing location resulting from
this change.

StaticGuard MLV Transient Voltage Suppressors

KYOCERA AVX StaticGuard MLV Transient Voltage Suppressors are a low capacitance version of TransGuard® Varistors and are ideal for any high-speed data transmission application requiring lower capacitance. This includes general electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection for CMOS, Bi-Polar, and SiGe-based systems. The KYOCERA AVX StaticGuard automotive series can also be used in CAN and LIN bus communication lines. These compact suppressors offer an axial or SMT/SMD package, ≤18VDC working voltage, and -55°C to +125°C operating temperature with no derating.
