MPQ5073 Load Switches

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MPQ5073 Load Switches are designed to provide 2A load protection over a voltage range from 0.5V to 5.5V. These switches feature an integrated soft-start function and programmable soft-start time, making the MPQ5073 highly efficient in handling the sudden inrush of current during the circuit start-up. Additional protections include overcurrent (OCP), thermal shutdown, and output discharge capabilities. The maximum load at the output (source) is current limited. This is accomplished by utilizing a sense FET topology. The load switch controls the magnitude of current limit through an external resistor from the ILIM pin to ground. An internal charge pump drives the gate of the power device, allowing a low ON-resistance DMOS power FET of 50mΩ.
