Automotive Application Solutions

RECOM Power offers a wide range of DC-DC converters suitable for automotive environments. DC-DC converters used in automotive applications must meet AEC-Q specifications for stress testing, performance, and production process control, establishing the reliability of the parts in their end applications. For the molded DC-DCs that integrate all components, including magnetics, the appropriate standard is AEC-Q100, intended for integrated circuits. These parts are also required to have a quality system that is compliant with ISO/TS 16949, including a Product Part Approval Process (PPAP), ensuring the continuing quality of manufactured parts.

RPY-1.5Q AEC-Q100 DC/DC Converters

RECOM Power RPY-1.5Q AEC-Q100 DC/DC Converters are automotive-grade constant current source buck regulators engineered to drive high-power LEDs. The integrated inductor means a complete LED driver is achieved in a compact 3mm x 5mm x 1.6mm thermally enhanced QFN package. The converters offer a maximum current output of up to 500mA set with an external sense resistor. The series features an input voltage range from 4VDC to 36VDC, allowing the use of 5V, 12V, or 24V supply voltages. The output is fully protected against continuous short circuits (SCP), input undervoltage (UVLO), output overcurrent (OCP), and overtemperature (OTP) conditions. A fault indicator flags LED open-/short-circuit conditions and thermal shutdown.
